EMIRATE TEAM NEW ZEALAND

For the America’s Cup of 2024 Defender Emirates Team New Zealand chooses the Catalan city of Barcelona, Spain. For this edition, the AC75s will be joined by a second boat: the 12-meter One Design foiling monohull (identical for all teams) AC40, with a crew of 4. The AC40 will be used for the two Preliminary Regattas in 2023 (Vilanova i la Geltrú, Spain and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia), and for the Youth and Puig Women's America's Cup to be held in Barcelona in 2024.

INEOS BRITANNIA

Backed by INEOS Founder and Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe and led by the most successful Olympic sailor of all time, Sir Ben Ainslie, INEOS Britannia is the Challenger of Record for the 37th America’s Cup. The British team, who will race for Royal Yacht Squadron Ltd, was formed in 2014 before joining forces with INEOS in 2018.

ALINGHI REDBULL RACING

The team represents the Société Nautique de Genève and is partnered with Swiss watch brand TUDOR. The official Swiss challenger will compete in the Louis Vuitton Cup, the Challenger Selection Series for the 37th America’s Cup in 2024 in Barcelona and will also field teams in the Youth and Women’s America’s Cup. NYYC AMERICAN MAGIC

On August 22, 1851, the 101-foot schooner America, built by New York Yacht Club commodore and founder John Cox Stevens, raced against 15 English yachts from the Royal Yacht Squadron in the “100 Guinea Cup,” an annual lap of the Isle of Wight. The visiting America won, finishing 8 minutes ahead of its closest rival. The trophy was renamed after the winners and donated to the New York Yacht Club, along with the “Deed of Gift,” specifying that it be held in trust as a perpetual challenge trophy.So America’s prize became “The America’s Cup,” and took up residency across the Atlantic.
